This time out, we’ll be getting into DC Comics Presents #69. The show starts with some Listener Feedback and I give an update for Facebook Page Likes and I-Tunes Rating. (and I grovel for more email, comments and I-Tunes Reviews) Next, we move on to everyone’s favorite segment; Russell’s Comic Brag, where I get to talk about another comic purchase .  Then, we have a Spotlight on Superman’s Guests, Blackhawk.  Next, we will delve into our issue, DC Comics Presents #69.  The episode closes with a trip to the Comic Spinner Rack.

  2. Another fine and fun episode. Wow! That “Spotlight” segment was pretty long, but I guess that’s what can happen with a team like the Blackhawks, with such a long history. I didn’t realize that, like DC’s “Trinity” of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, they’d been in continuous publication from the ’40s through the “60s. That’s impressive!
Great job with the “Hawkaaa!” cry! I loved that! I also loved the music from World War II that you played under the “Spotlight” segment. Very well done. I liked, too, that the music you’re playing under the “Spinner Rack” segment is music you enjoyed in your younger days. Music can have an amazing power, can’t it?
As for the story, itself, it made sense that Superman would want to investigate the odd situation that Perry couldn’t remember the story for which he’d won the award, and I guess a trip back in time, for him, is not much different from a trip around the block. I liked the moment when Einstein protested that he couldn’t make the serum the Nazis demanded of him, because he was a physicist, not a biochemist. A bit of Star Trek‘s Dr. McCoy, there.
I’m looking forward to next episode’s appearance of the Metal Men.
