  2. The dreaded super-ventriloquism is absolutely the worst super-power that Superman ever developed, but, at least it has a practical use here. I find it more bearable for him to use it in a case like this to communicate in the vacuum of space rather than being used as an easy out to protect is secret identity.

Hawkman is one of my favorite 2nd tier heroes, especially in the pre-crisis days before things got confusing. As for next issue, I can think of so many heroes Superman could have teamed up with for his 75th issue that would have been better than Arion. Good luck with that one!

  3. I always enjoy seeing Hawkman (and Hawkwoman) work with Superman. The Hawks, like Superman, are aliens from a technologically advanced world, who can fly, are strong, and less vulnerable than Earth people, and they can pass for Earth humans. It was also good to see Superman’s great-grandfather, Var-El. It’s too bad Superman didn’t get to spend more time with him. As for how the Orgons removed Var-El’s powers, I assume they used the “concentrated red sun radiation” that was used on Superman, since we see Var-El’s powers return when he is back in the vicinity of a yellow star.
Like Mr. Niemeyer, above, I might have wished Superman to team up with someone else for the “diamond” 75th issue, but I’ll wait and see how the story goes.
